I had so much fun with Halloween this year!! I love that I have 2 kids that understand what is going on and have fun with it! We had our ward trunk-or-treat last night and I am already posting pictures it it, aren't I amazing :) We had a tangled theme for Halloween too. I was trying to get more that one use out of the dress I made Janalee for her birthday.

I'm back

I have been a horrible blogger lately! We have been so busy around here and when I do get a moment to sit down on the computer Shaun is on the good one and I have the horribly slow one. Someday I will get a nice new computer that isn't super slow :)

Anyway, we have been up to a lot lately and so here is a little recap of our adventures around here.

My mom, sister, and niece came to visit!! It was so much fun to have them over here. I love my family, they are so awesome!!

I remember when I was little how we would cram as many kids and would fit into the bath at a time, it was fun for my kids to have a bath with their cousin :)

Of course we had to go to the beach while they were here. It was awesome! Perfect weather and lots of fun!

I hope we get to see them all again soon!! I miss being close to my family. Hopefully soon we will be a least within driving distance to them :)

Janalee has started soccer and we are all having fun with it. Shaun is the coach of her team and it is really fun for all of us. She is doing pretty good. She is on a team with only one girl who has only been there a few times, but she is learning to play with the boys :) She has even scored a couple goals, woo hoo!!

Janalee also turned 4 this month! I can't believe she is that old, my little baby girl has grown up, sniff sniff!! We had a great Tangled birthday party for her that was tons of fun! I had way too much fun putting this party together.

We played pin the nose of Flynn Rider and the kids got to draw and color their own noses. These are Rapunzel and Flynn's boat on the water. (I stole most all of these idea's from someone else on the internet so don't be too impressed)
The weather was so perfect that we could eat outside with made for a much easier clean up :)
Everyone got to make a crown for the party, what a cute bunch of kids!
Rapunzel's tower that they all got to color on like Rapunzel. After the party we cut a door in it so Janalee and Parker are having a blast playing with it. That brad was aweful to make and I will never do it again, but I think it is really cute and all the kids loved it.

I made her a dress for her birthday. She is in kid heaven when she is in dress up clothes!

Summer fun

Sorry I am such a bad blogger. In my defence I did try and post a few weeks ago and it was stalling and taking forever so I finally gave up and then forgot to try again. We've had lots of fun this summer, here are a few pictures of what we have been up to.
We were eating cucumbers (which is one of Janalee's favorite foods) and she kept putting them in her mouth and smiling at us. What a goof ball!! We haven't been to the zoo much this summer because it is so hot!! They were having a back to school party so we decided to go and play. The kids got their faces painted and there were a bunch of these characters around. Their favorite was the gator. ( I think they've been in Florida too long :)

Conner is almost crawling!!! He is scooting himself around the house slowly right now. It will be so much fun when he starts crawling so he can play with his siblings more!

Here is my future basketball player! Our neighbors gave us a pair of air jordans and we happened to have this onsie. What a cute picture!

We have been trying to go to the beach a few times a month because the kids love it!! Shaun plays with the older two and Conner and I take naps and chill in the breeze. What a perfect day!!

The kids favorite thing to do at the beach is dig, dig, dig!!!

This trip we let Conner put his feet in to see what he would do. I can't wait until he is older and we can put sun screen on him and let him play in the water more. I know he is going to have a blast! Just look at that smile!

Janalee had a friend over and they were playing dress up and poor Parker was feeling left out so he found himself a dress and asked me to put it on. He was having so much fun! Shhh don't tell Shaun that I let him wear a princess dress.

We were playing super hero's the other day and the kids were "flying" around the house. Parker kept saying he was "saman"(superman) what cute kids I have!

We haven't been up to much lately, just hanging around the house and enjoying each other. Conner is now 4 months old, I can't believe how time flies!! He is rolling over both ways now and starting to get up on his knees every once and a while. I can't believe I will have a crawler here soon!!
I love my boys!! Parker is such a little thing that Conner's torso is almost as long as his. hehe Parker is 2 now and Conner is 4 months. They are so cute, I just want to kiss them all day :) When I was taking that picture Janalee wanted in on the action. She really doesn't like to wear clothes and who am I to make her, it's so hot outside I would be in my undies all day too if I could. I was just happy she had a shirt on.
I decided that my couch was too gross to sit on anymore and so I striped it and washed all my covers and vacuumed the couch. Janalee and Parker loved this and made forts and trampolines from the cushions and loved every minute of it!!

My poor little Ellie! She had a sore spot on her back and she wouldn't leave it alone and so my neighbor fashioned this for her from a milk carton. I thought it was very creative and worked like a charm. Now she has healed up and is as good as new! She was pretty funny to look at though! :)

I was cleaning up the kitchen one morning and then front room got really quiet when I went to peek he had fallen asleep playing. I love this picture, so cute!!

Janalee loves to make Conner laugh and is usually successful. Conner loves her!! She usually makes a funny noise or just wiggles around and is just silly. One of the many joys of being a mom!!

Parker picked up this book that we have read a million times and started "reading" it. I thought it was so funny, I had to get it on film!

Happy Birthday to my boys!!

We had two birthday this weekend! Shaun and Parker. Parker turned 2 and I won't tell you how old Shaun is :) Time has flown, I can't believe Parker is 2!! He loves to be outside and ride bikes with Janalee, but he didn't have one. So we decide that he needed one and he loves it! He got a lawn mower from Aunt Brooke and Avie! Janalee and Parker have spend the day running around chasing eachother and having a grand time!

Janalee picked out a little car garage for Parker and between chasing eachother around they have been playing cars. I love that they play together now. It is so fun!

I asked Janalee what she wanted to get her daddy for his birthday and she kept telling me over and over again that she wanted to get him a shirt. I don't know where she got the idea from, but that was the answer she gave every time I asked her that question. So she went and pick him out a shirt and is very proud of her choice. hehe silly girl

Janalee keeps me on my toes and has me laughing everyday. She came up to me one day will her dress stuffed with her princesses. I told her she was a little young to be stuffing her dresses! She is such a goof!

A little bit of this and that

Well, in a few days Conner will be 6 weeks old! I can't believe it, time has flown but also it feels like he has been with us forever. The kids still love him and want to hold him all the time. Parker is always kissing him and loving on him, it just melts my heart! We haven't been up to a whole lot lately because I am too chicken to take three kids with me by myself if I don't have to. (Also because I am still really tired. Conner is a morning baby and likes to start the day at 5am!!)
Thought I would post some of the things we have been up to lately!

Here are my three cuties!!

Parker spends a good portion of the day hugging Conner or kissing him. Sometimes I really have to pull Parker away because his loving is a little too ruff. So cute to see them together though, I hope they will be best friends!

So Parker decided that he was done taking naps when I brought Conner home from the hospital. I didn't think this was very nice of him. I would still put him in his room for some quiet time and this was the price I happily paid. Everyday he would pull all the books off the book shelf, but it was worth it to have an hour to get something done or maybe sneak in a nap.

Parker loves to play outside and spends most of his day out in the backyard. He also loves the dirt and loves to play in the dirt so this is how he comes back in the house. I think I must wash his hands and face 10 times a day at least. He loves it out there though so I'm happy to do it!

Aren't these the cutest baby shoes that were ever made!!! I love them! My mom bought them for Conner and he wears them all the time because he just looks so stinking cute in them!

Janalee's favorite place right now is McDonald's -which she calls "Old McDonalds" She wanted to go there and had been asking for a few days so we decided that the kids have been stuck at home enough and deserved to have this treat. They happened to be having family night that night and they had people there to play games with the kids and paint their faces and give prizes away and cake. Woo hoo! So Janalee got her first face painting and held really still for it too. I thought it turned out really cute! She was so excited and even had to run across the street to show off the the neighbors.

This is the cutest video ever!! I love babies laughing! Conner has done this before but as soon as I get the camera out then he is done smiling and laughing. He loves his daddy though, Shaun is always able to get him to smile and coo.

Conner Jace Simmons has finally come to our family. We are all so excited to have him here!! He was born on March 16th at 7:48 in the morning. I went in on the night of the 15th to be induced. It was a really LONG night!!!!! I was so glad to finally get some rest after he was born. He was 6 pounds and 2.5oz and 19 inches long. He is so tiny! Janalee and Parker were both just short of 8 pounds. He is a good baby! I am so lucky :) Janalee and Parker love their little brother, it is fun to see them with him. Janalee asked to hold him all the time and Parker needs to know where he is at all times. They love to show off their new brother to anyone who comes to visit. Shaun didn't take too many pictures at the hospital except when Conner is in his birthday suit, hehe. (I didn't think he would want me to post those pictures)

Here are my two cuties after getting all cleaned up from gardening. Yep, we decided to be crazy and try out a garden this year. We might have planted a little early, but we were excited to get started. Plus I wanted to start before I had the baby. The kids loved digging in the dirt!

And the finished product!! I bought a strawberry plant and a tomato plant and did the rest from seeds. We have some carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, and flowers-for Janalee all from seeds. Hopefully something will come up, everyone keep your fingers crossed!

Here is my totally awesome family!!

I haven't been on here for a while because I have been on vacation for a few weeks to Arizona-woo hoo!! Then when we got back we got back we had to recover from the illness we got while there and when we got back. Both kids had the croup and Janalee had an ear infection. I just had a nice big head cold, Shaun somehow missed out on the sickness.

Anyway, the trip was so much fun!!! I loved being around all my family and miss them so much already! I hope that when we are done here in Florida we can move back there to be close to them again. Everyone needs to pray that we can find a job there!

Well, here is the star of the trip, my cute niece Kaylee!! My favorite part is her big huge cheeks and also her hair that sticks straight up. What a cutie pie!!!

While we were down there we decided that we should take some family pictures because this was the first time we had all been together-ever. Shaun wasn't able to make it to the weddings last summer and hadn't even met one of our brother-in-laws. So we decided to pick a very sunny afternoon so we could all have squinty eyes! haha

Ward Christmas Party

Shaun took the kids to the ward Christmas Party over the weekend alone (Sadly I had to work) I thought this was very brave of him!! Sadly he couldn't get the kids to cooperate and look at the camera at the same time. Still looks cute though :)

Biker baby

First off, I don't remember if I told you all that we are having another BOY!!! We are so excited to have another sweet little boy in the house! Today I went for another ultrasoud and got this cute 3D shot of him. He had the hiccups during the ultrasound and also refused to move his hand away from his face. What a cutie we have coming our way!

We had gotten Janalee a bike for her birthday and about 2 weeks ago she finally got the hang of it. She loves her bike and makes sure that everyday we go outside so she can ride it! She would spend the whole day outside if we would let her. The other day she was at our baby-sitters and they went to play at the dad's work. He is a welder so they had a good time running around and playing in his big workshop. Sadly Janalee wasn't paying attention and ran face first into a metal pole. Poor thing, anyway here is a picture of her that night after I got home from work. I don't know how she was able to get all the damage under her nose, but that is pretty funny if I do say so myself. I was going to get family pictures today, but I think I am going to wait until her nose heals. When I pulled out the camera to take a picture of her nose Parker came and planted himself in front of me and was waiting for his picture to be taken. Too cute. I told him to smile and this is what he did, what a ham!

This picture just cracks me up! This is how she came walking out of her room one day after her nap, hahaha! I was laughing so hard! She found an awesome way to wear 2 shoes!!! That's my girl, got to love her.

first hair cut

Isn't this boy a cutie! This is how he came in from playing out in the back yard one day, yummy dirt! I put him on the counter and pulled the camera out and he started saying "eese, eese" (cheese), too cute!!

Halloween fun

We have had a lot of fun with Halloween this year already! Here we are decorating our pumpkins. I got these kits on sell and thought we would try them out this year. I wasn't sure at first if it was going to be as fun as digging the pumpkin seeds out and getting our hands all messy, but the kids loved it and they love looking at their pumpkins!!

Here we are at the local pumpkin patch, they both loved it!! I couldn't believe how expensive the pumpkin's were there though. We bought a little one for a dollar, but the bigger ones were like 10 dollars (I don't think so). So we ended up getting ours at walmart.

We tried to get them both looking at the camera AND smile at the same time, but that is like asking for a miracle.

I found this cute design for a bat in a magazine, Janalee had fun making these. Of course she asked to make a pink bat, who am I to say no to that :)

Janalee's 3rd Birthday

I can't believe my baby is 3!! She is such a cutie!! I love her to pieces! My parents and sister Jamie and her hubby were in town so we got to have a family birthday party. Yea! She was loving all of the attention, if you can imagine that :) Well, she got totally spoiled by everyone! Both kids love having new toys to play/fight with. It was so much fun to have everyone here, I miss them all already. I have more pictures from my parent's trip here, but I never remembered to bring my camera. Luckily grandma saved the day and brought her's, so as soon as she sends them to me I will share them all with you.

Here is the princess and the frog dress she got from Aunt Jamie and Uncle Josh. She loves this thing and has been wearing it on and off for the past week.

Shaun really wanted to get her a bike so we found a pretty good deal on this princess bike. Both her and Parker love this thing. She wants Daddy to take her out to ride her bike all the time. She is starting to get better at it and can petal several times in a row before she gets stuck. Parker loves to climb on it and pretend her is riding.

What a combo: princess dress, princess bike, princess helmit, and tap shoes.

Fun times

I have been really lazy with just about everything in life lately! My poor house and kids and hubby have suffered for it. I do have a good excuse though, we are pregnant again!!! I am 12 weeks along and feeling pretty good for the most part, except being really tired ALL the time!!! We are all very excited. Janalee tells me that she has a baby in her tummy too, hehe! What a cutie.
Well, this is what has been going on around here. We went to the zoo last week and it was really fun, but hot! The zoo was doing a birthday party for one of its mascots so we got to have free cupcakes and party hats.

We were all so tired and hot coming home. Shaun gave Parker the big water bottle that still had a few ice cubes left in to and Parker held it all the way home. He looks so tired.

Janalee and Parker like to play it hard! The other day Janalee ran, and I mean RAN into the corner of the wall. She had a bruise on her other eye that just faded so I guess she thought it was time to get another one. I was laughing so hard, I felt bad for her though, my poor baby!

Parker had a small obsession with soda cans, whenever Shaun has one Parker will be close by. Shaun was getting ready one day and the kids were playing in our room and a little while later I went to go to bathroom and found this surprise for me. haha, I made Shaun fish it out.

Parker got some new clothes from my awesome cousin. This little suit was in there, he looks so grown up!!I can't believe he is almost 14 months old. Time is flying!!

When we put Parker's suit jacket on Janalee ran in her room to get her jacket! It is summer time so she only had this one vest jacket in her room. She had me put it on and wanted a picture taken. She even sat halfway still for the picture. What a little cutie!

Simmons reunion

A few days after my sister and her hubby left we drove up to Georgia for a Simmons family BBQ. We had so much fun up there. It was so nice and peaceful up there! I hope we get to go again!! Janalee's favorite part was feeding the fish on Uncle John's lake and playing with his three dogs. This is a little clip that will give you a few of the place and here is everyone feeding the fish some boiled peanut shells!

On Saturday we had a huge BBQ. Uncle John smoked some chicken and ribs and invited a ton of people and we all had a blast! Here is our family with Grandma Simmons!

So it has been a really crazy month or so at the Simmons house! I haven't had time to do a whole lot except keep the kids fed and alive and the house somewhat picked up-that is the important stuff right:)
So I am going to play catch up with all the stuff that has been going on around here and then hopefully I will get better and start posting regularly again for my faithful 3 readers:)

So one morning we are eating breakfast and Janalee, for the 3rd time that week, spilled milk all over the chair. We had fabric chairs and so I had to go outside and hose the chair down and then wait for it to dry. So I decided I was done!! I went to JoAnn's and got some material and some plastic covering and whipped out the staple gun and fixed the chairs. I love it. It is much better now during meal time clean up because I can just wipe them off. I was very proud of myself!!

Next, my sister Tiffany came for a visit! YAY!!!! We were all very excited to have her here. We of course had to go play at the beach, what else would you do in Florida?
Before we went to the beach, Aunt "Tippy"-as Janalee called her, brought some gifts for the kids. The dress here is one from a cousin(thanks Steph!) and Janalee LOVES this dress and I pretty much have to steal it from her in her sleep to wash it. She wears it almost every day. The shoes here are Cinderella slippers that light up when you walk. Janalee LOVES these too!! We had to hind them from her after a few days because she was getting blisters from them, poor thing.

SEAWORLD!!!!
Tiffany's hubby came out for a few days too and we all went down to Seaworld. My sister is preggo-I am so excited- and with the kids we decided that we couldn't really do ride so we would take them to seaworld and see all the shows. I was a little worried about the kids sitting for all the shows, but they did awesome!! They loved watching all the fish do tricks and swim around. Let me tell you people, it was HOT!!!!!!!!! I don't think I really want to do a theme park again when it is 98 degrees outside with 1,000% humidity. Let me tell you, we were all sweating like pigs!! Still had tons of fun though. Shaun and I can go again anytime for the rest of the year for free, so come on out-when it is a little cooler though:)

Parker loved the big aquariums so that some of the fish were down at his level! He would have spend forever watching these fish if we didn't finally pick him up and walk to the next tanks haha.

We pet the sting rays, which was really slimy but cool! Janalee was a little unsure at first, but when she saw all of us doing it she gave in to the curiosity. This is uncle Jonny helping her pet them.

They had a little splash park for the kids too. I brought their swimming suits and had brought a change of cloths just in case; so I decided that instead of waiting in line to change into their swim suits and then again to change back into dry clothes we just would skip a step. Pretty smart, right!!

Parker's Birthday Party

Last Saturday we had a little birthday party for Parker. It was so much fun. I love birthdays!! I can't believe he is one, it is just crazy! We had a few friends come over and swim and have a BBQ, all in all it was a really fun day!

I found this cake in a book and couldn't wait to make it for Parker. I think it turned out pretty good, except that I ran out of frosting so the bottom isn't as covered as I would like, but you get the idea.

Here we are singing happy birthday to him. I don't think he knew why he was getting all the attention, but learned to like it fast!

Janalee loved eating cake. Everyday she asks me if she can eat some cake! We kept finding her sneaking some of the candy off the cake when she thought we weren't looking.

He got an Ernie doll and loves it! He carried it around most of the day and likes to go to sleep with it now, how cute it that!!

Janalee gave him a bouncie ball, which they both love(and fight over)! Can you see how excited he was to get this! He LOVES balls!

The Simmons Boy's Birthday

So today was the men in my life's birthday!! I can't believe Parker is one year old already, time is sure flying by!! I think it is so fun that Shaun and Parker get to share a birthday together!

Shaun and Parker had fun opening their gifts!

He got a little people plane from mommy and daddy! Both kids love this and were excited to play with it.

Poor Janalee was having a hard time understanding why she didn't get gifts too. Luckily Grandma saved the day and sent this awesome new princess bathing suit. She is in love with it and started stripping her clothes off as soon as she opened it. She even went to bed with it on!

So Parker loves soda cans and thanks to daddy has at least one to play with every night! Tonight he was carrying this one around from the flip thingie.(don't worry folks it was taken away as soon as this picture was taken-he didn't choke on it)

For our aniversary last week I got Shaun some kabab racks- so we made kababs tonight and they turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. I think we will be putting this gift to good use this summer! P.S. we love grilling

Here is Shaun getting his corn ready to put on the grill- sadly all but one got burnt to a crisp. Does anyone had a good way to grill corn? We are in need of some help!

Beach Party!

We all went over to the beach today and had a blast! Janalee had been talking about it all day and so excited to get there. She kept asking us "where the beach, I can't see it!" too funny! She ran right into the water as soon as we got there. Parker who loves the water, was very excited to get in too. Once he got in though he was a little scared of the waves. He stuck pretty close to either me or Shaun from then on and didn't want to go too far out.

Parker was a little tired I guess and sat and snuggled with Shaun for almost 10 minutes. It was so cute!!!

Janalee was having a blast running in and out of the water and digging in the sand and making piles of sand and then distroying them!

Shaun and Janalee spend most of the time building a wall up so there was a little pool of water for Parker to play in so the waves wouldn't get to him.

It was a really fun day at the beach!! As soon as we got home Janalee was asking to go back. She doesn't quite understand the concept of later sometimes :)

Zoo party!!

So we went to the zoo today because Shaun has this week off. It was so fun! I love the Jacksonville zoo, it is too awesome! We had so much fun! Sadly I forgot the camera:( Anyway, they have a little kids water park and Parker was in kid heaven!! He loved walking under the water and letting it pour all over his head, Janalee only wanted to get her feet wet! They both had lots of fun there! Janalee loved looking at all the animals. Her favorites were all the birds. We would be like "look Janalee, the elephants!" and she would say "wow, look a bird!" hahaha-well at least she found the birds really exciting. hehe Parker loved looking at the animals too, but he also loved people watching! We had so much fun!!!
It was such a hot day that we had to come home and get in our pool!! I love our pool!!! So do the kids! Janalee is getting pretty good at "swimming" with her floaties. Parker just wants to play in the pool all day! We will be spending a lot of time this summer in the pool!
Anyway, we will hopefully have some more fun times to share with you all later this week! I love when Shaun is on vacation!!!

Easter and more

Janalee loved decorating eggs. She really wanted to put her whole hand into the dye, but we were able to keep everything but her fingers out. I think she loved eating them the most!

Here they both are hunting eggs! Easter was so much fun now that Janalee is older and understands more!! She had fun opening her Easter basket and Parker's and mom and dad's too. haha Shaun hid some Easter egg outside around the house and she loved running around looking for them. It was so cute!! Even Parker got in on the action. So much fun :)

I can't get them both to smile at the same time!!

Janalee loves to sing!! Since December she has been singing jingle bells all the time, but now we have moved onto Cinderella haha! She is even making up her own songs as you can see in this video. Too much fun!

Parker is cutting his teeth. For a while there he only had one top tooth, it is pretty cute if I do say so myself!

The other weekend we went to the zoo. We bought a zoo pass since Janalee loves going so we can go whenever and not have to wait in line, woo hoo. (that day there were like 300 people outside of the zoo waiting to get in.)
We found the kid play area and Janalee and Parker were in kid heaven!!!! They both loved the slide. I think Janalee went down it like 30 times in a row before we forced her to leave.

She was so cute on this thing. She sat in the middle and was pointing to each girl and would ask "What your name?" My little social butterfly there :)

We also found the petting zoo. Janalee loves the animals!!

I finally learned how to get pictures off my phone-thanks Shaun. So I thought I would share some of them with you all. A few weeks ago we went to a bowling party with some of the other people from the hospital that Shaun works with. Janalee loved it. Every time she rolled her bowling ball down there, she would turn around with a big smile on her face and proclaim "I did it!" So cute!!!

(Sorry about this being blurry, I was holding Parker so my hand was shaking a little. Just imagine it not blurry, aren't they cute!)

Parker got a hold of the frosting from a cupcake there. He loved his first taste of frosting, yummy!

Here is some pictures from taking the kids to the mall play place. Parker was impressing everyone with his walking. Ya, my kid is awesome :) Of course I couldn't get Janalee to hold still long enough to take a picture- she was running around like her crazy self. got to love her though!

Last week we went to the park because the weather was so nice. Janalee found some girls to follow around the playground. The girls decided to go on the little mile walk loop that is there at the park, so of course Janalee had to go with them. She had to hold both their hands almost the whole time, too cute.

P.S. I have no idea what the fleshy looking thing in the corner is, because it couldn't possibly be my finger-hehe

So, I am starting to get really bad at posting here for my 3 readers. haha, I will improve. It has been really busy here, Parker is walking around most of the time. He is trying to climb on things already! Crazy!!!!! I found him trying to scale a folding chair at church the other day, luckily he had only made it the first rung on the chair.

This Sunday I dressed Parker too stinkin cute!! My mom found this tie and I thought I would try it on. He looks so grown up in it!!! I can't believe he is 9 months now!! He didn't even play with it at church, what a good boy. Janalee was dressed cute as always-could she be anything else :)- but I couldn't get her to stop moving long enough to get a clear picture, they all turned out fuzzy! Crazy girl :)

I think we wore Shaun out this weekend, hahaha!

Grandma came to visit!!

Last week, my mom came to visit. It was so much fun to have her here. The kids loved all the extra attention they got. We pretty much just hung around the house, but it was still nice to have some family around. Shaun and I even got to go out to eat without kids, woo hoo! The weather was nice a few days while she was here, we got to go to the park and do Janalee's favorite thing SLIDE!! We couldn't get her to stop moving long enough to get a good picture. She was having fun.

We made some yummy cookies, Janalee even got to help. She is sporting the top-less look these days, haha.

I am older now too. I had my birthday last week and my mom made me some yummy cinnamon rolls!!! Shaun even added a sparkler on top, we didn't have any candles. Aren't I loved!

Dang I have some cute kids, if I do say so myself! My mom is pretty good looking too :)

Week off with Daddy!!!

Shaun had his first vacation week last week. It was great to have him home to play with our little family!! Janalee was loving life! We didn't do a whole lot sadly because of the weather and I wasn't feeling very good by the end of the week. We did get some much needed shopping done so that was nice to have hime around to run after Janalee in the store :) We went to the beach one day, but it was FREEZING! Someone told Shaun that even when it is chiily outside the ocean is still warm. They lied to him. I was a little sceptical about it, but we got Janalee all dressed in her swimming suit and Shaun was ready to get in the water. As are driving, there were more and more clouds and it was getting windy. By the time we got there it was pretty over cast and seriouly windy. It was really cold too. We did a short walk on the beach collected some shells and called it good. Poor Janalee was really sad that she didn't get to go swimming. Luckily the next day our neighbor let janalee and Shaun come over and swim in his huge spa.

On saturday we went to the zoo though. It was cold, but Janalee had tons of fun! I got to try out my new stroller too. We traded in this crappy double stroller that I got off craigslist into babiesRus and got 25% off a nice new one. I love it!!!!!!!! One of her favorite things was the giant snake!!! I think she watched this snake for a whole minute- that is a long time for Janalee and then came back to watch it again. We arrived at the perfect time to watch these chimps. They just got feed and were putting on quite the show. I have a video of the female here just screeching away. we all thought it was pretty fun to watch them. They had this cool sting ray petting place. You were able to touch the sting rays. Shaun and I thought Janalee would love this, but she would not put her hand in the water. Wouldn't even come close to touching it. haha Shaun and I loved it though, they were really slimy feeling! This was my favorite part of the trip. They had this cage that you could walk into and the birds were flying around you. I didn't even think about it, but janalee had some animal crackers in front of her in the stroller. This bird was being so cute and friendly, it was watching Janalee and getting closer and closer. Then all of a sudden it flew up and snatched a cracker from the stroller. I thought it had pecked her hand or something, until I saw the cracker in it's beak. I don't think animal crackers are on their diet, whoops! Too funny though! This is how Parker spent most of the time at the zoo! He did watch some of the animals, but mostly he just liked to people watch. What a cute boy he is!!!
Janalee loved feeding the giraffs. They only had a small space where you could stand and feed them, so I was trying to hand her the lettuce and film at the same time, so sorry about the poor footage I got. She seemed to really like it though and was all smiles afterwards.
All in all it was a really fun day at the zoo. We were all tired when we left. It hope to go back again soon when the weather is nicer.

Shaun is on-call at the hospital all night tonight so I have the computer all to myself. So I thought that I would finally update my blog!!! (Shaun is a little bit of a computer hog, if you didn't know) There hasn't a lot going on over here, just hanging around the house and enjoying my kiddos. They are so much fun!! The other day Parker thought when I hit the couch with my hand that it was hysterical. He laughed for like 2-3 minutes, so cute!! Janalee wouldn't be out shined as you can tell with her jumping in front of the camera.

Our sweet next door neighbor came over one night and gave Janalee all of her old dress up clothes. She was in kid heaven! I had her put one on and then took and picture. Then she had to take it off and put another one off and wanted me to take a picture, and repeated until she had tried them on several times. It was so cute! Here are some from that night. She wanted me to take a picture, but didn't want to stand still long enough for me to take it.
Shaun came home from work one night and still had his scrub hat on and Janalee just had to try it on. Do we have a future surgeon in the house?

And for a final video, I just thought her singing jingle bells was so cute. I forgot that I actually got her on video because most of the time she would just yell no when I asked her to sing on the camera, which she demonstrates at the end of this video, haha. She still sings it all the time. Sometimes when Parker is crying, I will ask her to sing him a song and she will sing jingle bells to him, too cute!!!!!!!!!

Christmas Time!!!!

Christmas was so much fun this year with Janalee. She didn't get the whole thing about Christmas, but she sure understood that he was going to bring her presents. She had so much fun opening presents and was totally spoiled by all who sent her gifts. I am hiding some of them so that we can bring them out in a few weeks and it is like she got new toys again. She had so much fun. Here are some pictures of the kids from that day, it was so hard to get both of them to look at the camera, it is pretty much impossible to get them both looking and smiling at the same time. These are still cute though.

Santa visit

Our ward had a party and Santa was there. I had been trying to get Janalee all excited to see him so I had been talking about it for a few days. They had this scary looking elf there next to Santa so I was afraid that she wouldn't want to go and see him, but she didn't care. She walked over and climbed right up on his lap, it was so cute. Parker was more interested in eating him beard. I wish we could have gotten a picture with all of us looking at the camera, but there were a lot of kids there who were waiting their turn. Next time maybe. We are loving our new camera that grandma got us for Christmas though!!! Now we can take all the pictures we want! Thanks grandma, you are awesome!!

I came home from dropping our packages off at the post office and found Parker like this. When I left both kids were sleeping and Shaun was playing on the computer. When I got home both kids were still sleeping, but Parker was now in Janalee's chair. It was so funny. Shaun even reclined the chair using Mr. Potato head, hahaha. Shaun cracks me up. It was so cute, I just had to take a picture.
Parker is now 6 months old. I can't believe it!! He is 15lbs 12oz and 26in long. He is getting so big!! He is crawling all over the house and pulling himself up on things. He is trying to walk around the furniture, but he isn't steady enough on his feet yet. Janalee likes that he is able to get around, but also doesn't like that he is getting into things now. He is such a quiet baby that sometimes I have to go on a search of the house to find him because he has crawled into a corner to play or is hiding behind furniture. My kids are so much fun, you can't help but love them!!

I made cards this year for Shaun's residents and attendings and my family. My friend Kristen inspired me with her craftiness!!! I thought they turned our pretty good for my first attempt at card making. I need to recover now for a little while, I used up all my creative juices on these.

Fun times at the Simmons house

We had a great Thanksgiving here. We cooked a nice turkey for the four of us, well three since Parker doesn't eat yet. It was my first and I think it turned out pretty good. We ate on it all weekend, it was yummy!!! Parker is now crawling. He is loving that he is more mobile now, but I don't think Janalee is too excited all the time. He is now able to get into her stuff and she is trying to adjust to that. She does have fun playing with most of the time. She plays a little ruff, good thing the second born is durable!!
Last night I was getting myself some dinner, when I turned around janalee had jump off her chair and ran over to mine to feed Parker. It was so cute. She just couldn't get it in there fast enough for him. We will work on that, and also teach her how to change diapers too :)

This is our little Christmas tree and hanging on the lighting is our long Christmas countdown. We made some little paper decoration for it. Janalee didn't do so good with the real ornaments of the tree. I got tired after the first day of her taking the ornaments off and breaking them, so we went to paper. Now she doesn't play with them at all. Parker loves to try and eat it, yummy fake tree :)
I can't wait for Christmas, it is so much fun now that Janalee is older and understands more of what is going on.

Parker has started to shuffle himself around the house. He is getting quite fast at it now. It is fun to see him inching around now. Janalee doesn't quite know what to think about him being mobile yet. He has started getting into her toys, haha.

Well Janalee has finally went pee pee into the potty!!!!!!! For the longest time she would hold it for hours and then when she was outside she would pee or if she was going to take a bath she would climb into the tub and pee. She didn't like to pee on the floor, which was good for me. Last night I told her it was time to go to bed and then she suddenly had the urge to use the potty. She pottied once and then said she had to go again. So we ended up staying up an hour past her bedtime waiting for her to use to potty again. Finally she did pee a second time woo hoo!!! I was so excited. I thought this was going to be a break through here and she would start using the potty once and a while. She had other plans. This morning she wouldn't take her diaper off for a few hours and then she held it until she was playing outside and went in the grass. Then when I told her it was time for a nap, she suddenly wanted to use the potty. I think I am being bested by a 2 year old. She is so smart that she is use the potty against me, hahaha. Who says a 2 year old can't play mind game!!!
She is so funny! It is a good thing she is so cute, she makes it all worth while in the end!!!!!

Parker is almost crawling

Looks like we got another crazy active kid here. The last two days he has been getting up on his hands and knees and rocking. I can't believe he is doing that already. He is almost 5 months. At this rate he might be crawling by Thanksgiving. Craziness!!! Janalee is really starting to play with him more and he loves that. He thinks she is the funniest thing ever and is laughing at her all the time. I'm sure with him crawling, she is going to enjoy playing with him more and more. It is so cute when your kids play together!!!
He is starting a little cold though so he isn't happy that I was making a video of him instead of holding him. He is still just so cute even when he is crying!!!

Halloween

We had so much fun this halloween! Janalee loved walking around and getting candy. She was even saying trick-or-treat (well more like wrik-or-reet, but people got it). She is still saying "wrik-or-reet" to people trying to get some candy out of them. Janalee was cinderella, her favorite princess (snow white is a close second). Parker was a rooster. He didn't stay in his costume for long because it was so hot here. I went as a nurse and shaun a doctor- I know we are lame people. I did wear my nurses cap and made shaun wear one of those mirrors on his head (well cardboard wrapped in aluminum foil attached to one of janalee's headbands-haha). It was a lot of fun with janalee this year!!!

P.S. On the way home from our ward halloween party, we just get out of the parking lot and I turn around and Janalee's mouth is glowing!!! Yep folks, she ate a glow stick that was passed out that night. Don't worry though, she is still alive and crazy as ever :)

We carved our pumpkin the other day and Janalee had a blast!! She loved to dig all the gunk out of the pumpkin. Daddy cut out the face trying to work around Janalee's "helping" hands. I think it turned out pretty good!!! BOO scary pumpkin!

Janalee is 2 already, I can't believe it! Am I getting old or something??!!! I think she had a fun birthday. Thanks for all the fun things people sent her!!
Here are the three of us, aren't we cute!

Here she is in the cute nightie that Aunt Brooke got her. She is really getting into princess stuff. We got her this motorized quad (we found it at a garage sell for way cheap) She still isn't quite sure what to think about it. She wants to push it with her feel instead of using the pedal, but she is starting to get it.

This is my sad attempt at making an Elmo cake. It wasn't as horrible as I was thinking it was going to turn out. At least janalee knew who it was and seemed to like it. That is all that matters right. Don't laugh too hard at it.

P.S. I have tried to many times to get that video of Parker laughing and it just wasn't meant to be. So if you want to see him laughing, you have to come see it for yourself. (it is worth it though because he is so cute!!)

I have been posting a lot about Parker lately and Janalee will not have herself being ignored, hehe. Here are some pictures of what she has been up to lately.

We pulled out the good old exer-saucer the other day and Janalee just had to make sure that it was safe for Parker to get in and play.

Janalee loves to go with Shaun and "drive" his truck. When he told her it was time to come in, she wasn't very happy. So she decided to show her anger through banging her head on something, it just happened to to be the seat belt. How do you bruise a nostril, I mean really. She is such a crazy gal, there is never a dull moment with her around the house haha.

We haven't been up to much lately, but we did buy a pool this weekend. They are 50% off now so we decided to go ahead and get one. Janalee is in heaven! All day she wants to go in the "waer" and "wim". The water goes just above her shoulders so it is perfect for her. Parker even likes to go in the pool, he was sleeping when I pulled out the camera today. I have a really cute video of him laughing but this computer isn't letting me load it, I have to wait for Shaun to surrender the good one.

Apple Bread

Hey there Rebecca, sorry it took me so long to get this to you. I used to make this in college a lot and it is yummy. It makes me hungry, I wish that I had some apples to make it.
3 cups flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla
3 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 cup cooking oil ( or use apple sauce)
3 cups sliced apples

Mix flour, baking soda, and cinnamon together
Cream together sugarm oil, eggs, and vanilla
Add flour mixture
Bake at 325 until lightly brown and done, about an hour

You can freeze this but I always end up eating it before that point.

First hair cut

So I finally couldn't take it any longer, I had to give her bangs. She won't keep hair clips and pony-tails unless we are out of the house. So she walks around all day long with her hair in her eyes. Drives me crazy!!! Right now she has a touch of a cold and so there is snot all over her hair GROSS!!!!! I didn't want to do it because I wanted her hair to grow out, but it had to be done. I think she still looks cute.

Space Shuttle

This was really cool! The space shuttle launched about 150 miles from our house down here. We stayed up until midnight to see it. Totally worth it! We didn't think that we would see a whole lot but as soon as we went outside we could see this huge ball of fire in the sky, so I ran inside and grabbed the camera. We are going to try one time while we are down here to go and see a shuttle launch. Sorry about the camera shaking, I was zoomed in as far as the camera would let me and so every little movement it really noticeable. It was really cool. The shuttle should be connecting with the space station sometime tonight.

So we are back from AZ again. Kristi's wedding was wonderful. I think it turned out really pretty. It was nice to see everyone again, I won't get to see them all for a long time :(
The kids did pretty good on the planes this time. Janalee even knew when we strolled up to the securety line what she had to do and started taking her shoes off. ( you think we have been flying too much?) On one of the flights back we sat behind this kind of crazy lady. She was moving down to Florida and was was traveling with her two kids-who were like 3 and 4 maybe (and she had her little boy in a butterfly shirt with pink flower sandals- I hope she doesn't send him to school like that because he will get beat up or something) and three cats and another couple of bags. Ya she was a little crazy and had a break down on the plane and almost got thrown off the plane because she delayed us for 35mins trying to get her kids carseats in correctly. My heart goes out to her because she was in way over her head, but she was also a crazy lady in general I think. She even got her finger stuck in her seatbelt during the flight- I mean really.
Anyway- it sure made for an intersting flight.
Back to the wedding- Janalee was just loving all the attention she was getting. She was just running around like a crazy-lady and loving every minute of it. while we were setting up that day I had gone to feed Parker in the mother's lounge and I guess no one was watching her. We had all the cakes for the reception in a room off the kitchen with the doors closed. janalee was able to crawl under the counters in the kitchen and into the cake room. She grabbed 2 handfuls of carrot cake and came to show everyone her dirty hands. We were all just laughing. Crazy kid. More cake for mommy- woo hoo.
Well it was a ton of fun going back for another sisters wedding. Grandma Simmons, Aunt Brooke, and Avie were able to come over from Clifonia to see us. That was great because I haven't seem them in a while and they were able to meet Parker. Thanks for driving all the way to see us. I don't think Amelia is getting married anytime soon, so the Bible family weddings will be on hold until then, haha.

So I woke up this morning and was doing stuff at the sink and then all of a sudden this frog jumped onto my counter from the sink. AAAAHHHH! I almost screamed out loud because I wasn't expecting anything to jump out of my sink. The only way I can think that this frog got in is through the doggie door and then climbed up my counters and into the sink. Craziness!! Frog soup anyone? (yuck)

Just thought I would share some more cute pictures of my kids with you all. We are about to go down to AZ again for another sister's wedding. It should be fun, but I wish that we could be transported there like in the star trek movies, you know "Beam me up Scotty" (sorry, Shaun has been watching the star trek movies while we fall asleep). A plane ride with and EXTREMELY active 1 year old is not a very fun experience. She can't even sit through a portion of sacrament meeting without screaming and running all over the building-sigh. Anyway here is some pictures of them before we when to church this Sunday. I don't know why Janalee didn't want to smile, but oh well. Also here is a video with Parker rolling over at 6 weeks. We can hardly keep him on his tummy for tummy time anymore. Soon he is going to be all over the house getting into stuff. Good times. GROSS!!!!!!

I was about to write a post about something else, when I noticed that Janalee wasn't going to sleep like she should so I went to investigate. This is what I found.

Yep, that's poop!
She has been digging into her diapers during nap time if she hasn't pooped before. Then she "paints" the walls or the bed, or whatever strikes her fancy. It is so GROSS I can't believe she does that. She hadn't done it for almost a week and so I thought we were over that stage, but she proved me wrong. I don't know how to get her to stop. If she hasn't pooped before nap time I usually stick her in a onsie so that she can't to her diaper as easily, but I wasn't thinking today and I paid the price. HELP!!!

Sorry that it has been so long. We have been busy here at the Simmons house. Parker is now a month old, wow how time flies!!! We just got back from my sisters wedding in AZ. Poor Shaun had to stay back in Florida all by himself because he was on call all last week and I don't think they would have let him take time off already because he just started his residency on the 1st. He is liking it so far. He has to stay all night at the hospital tonight so I am all alone :(.
Anyway, my sisters wedding was beautiful!! It was so nice to see everyone down there and show off Parker to them. He is getting so big!! He has already rolled over and is smiling now. He is just so cute!! I love him to pieces! Janalee is doing good too, but I think she is really missing the attention of her aunts and Grandma. She wasn't really jealous of Parker before, but now the it is just the three of us all day, I think she is starting to now.

We are all together in Florida now, yeah!!!! It was a long trip down there, but the kids did really good. Thank goodness for my mom, she was wonderful taking care of all of us on the trip down. Shaun was awesome and he had a lot of the house aready unpacked and ready to live in. So now I just have to get the rest of the house set up. It is coming along. I am going to try and get some more picture of the Parker, and get some of the whole family now. Florida is nice, but it is hot and humid!!! It is a beautiful state and I am glad we are all together again!

Baby Parker is finally here!!! He was born on Shaun's b-day, June 10th at 2:26pm. He weighted 7lbs 12.8oz and was 20 inches long. He is such a cute baby, we are excited to have him join the family! Janalee is doing really good with him and asks to hold him all the time, it is just too cute. I am going to try and get it on video to show you all. Sorry it took me so long to get pictures of him up here to share, it has been a busy weekend. Shaun is down in Florida right now getting our house all ready for the rest of the family to show up. We are hopefully going to be with him soon.

Dr. Simmons

Shaun is officially a Doctor now, woo hoo. He graduated last week from Midwestern University. We are all so proud of him. I unfortunately couldn't go because I was stuck in Michigan pregnant, but his family was able to go and support him. I was told it was a nice ceremony. I made Shaun try on his cap and gown for me before he went so I could pretend that I was there.

stubborn kid

Stubborn kids are what Shaun and I have. We had an amniocentesis on Monday and were hoping that his lungs where going to mature enough that we could have him this week or next week. That way we both him and I would have some time before we move down to Florida to recover. But this little boy is going to be stubborn and take his time, when the test results came back they said his lungs were really immature and the eeriest that they would induce me was the 3rd of June. Well, Shaun is going to be gone that whole week for graduation from med school and so that wasn't sounding very fun for me to do things by myself. So after talking it over and looking at schedules and stuff we decided that we should just wait until the 10th and then Shaun will be here. So sorry to get everyone excited that we were going to have a baby soon, but we will all just have to be patient and wait until this little boy decides that he is ready to come out. So the plan is for Shaun to be here for the delivery and then drive down to Florida with his dad, and then soon after me and the kids and my mom and sister will drive down and meet him. Janalee decided that she was going to be born on time either and was a week and a half late before I got induced. So now this little boy is taking his own sweet time and wants to be born on the 10th-which is Shaun's birthday so that is fun. So, everyone pray that there aren't any complications with the birth and we will all be ok to drive down to Florida when we need to. Fun times ahead for the Simmons family.

So I have been looking on craigslist.com for some good deals on baby stuff that we need and I found an awesome one. So I am going to brag about it to you all, haha. Well my cousin let me use her baby carrier with Janalee and I fell in love with it, she still is using it right now for her baby and so I wasn't going to get to borrow it this time. While I was looking on craigslist I found one for my very own!! The brand is Baby Bjorn and they are the best baby carriers! Normally they are like 80 bucks and I found this one for 15, only used a few times by the owner. Sweet deal!! Here is a picture of Shaun and Janalee trying it out for me, aren't they cute!!

Easter

Our ward had a little Easter egg hunt for the kids at the church, because it is too cold to do it outside. At first she didn't know what was going on because there were so many kids running everywhere, but she caught on quickly. She was really excited to find out that there were things inside the eggs too. For the rest of the morning she wouldn't let go of her bucket of eggs.

Arizona trip

Shaun had a test that he had to go back to school in Arizona and take, so Janalee and I decided that we needed to tag along. It was a long flight there, but so worth it. It was so nice to see everyone down there. I miss you all!!!
Here are all of us that went to the zoo, we are riding the train around the park. Aren't we a good lookn' family!

The Pheonix zoo has all these kid areas now, it is so nice. It never had this stuff when we went there as kids. Here is Janalee and Trey and Ethan-cousins- play in the kids area.

This is the fun little petting zoo area. Here is a shot of my big belly. Notice Janalee's pants in the first picture, ya she totally fell right into a puddle of mud and who knows what else. She went the rest of the time without pants on.

And finally this is a shot of her nice shiner that she got when she fell off the piano bench and hit her head of the piano. Poor thing. It is a lot darker, but the flash lightened it. Thankfully it is healing nicely.

Shoe Addiction

So, my daughter has a shoe addiction. She loves shoes no matter who's they are. When she gets into our room, she goes straight for the closet and will pick out a pair she likes and try to escape with them. In our coat closet we have shoes one the floor in there, mostly our hospital shoes who's germs I am trying to keep out of the house and away from Janalee, but she has discovered how to open that door too. Now she will open it as fast as she can, grab a pair of shoes and run off with them. When we are at the mall in the play place, we have to watch her around the little shoe cubby otherwise she will run off with someone else's shoes. She loves to wear shoes around the house all day long if she can. Sometimes when I haven't been able to get her shoes off before nap time she will throw a tantrum if I try to take them off. I have wanted to get a picture of her sleeping with her shoes on and today I finally got one. I guess there are worse things in life then a 1 year old with a shoe addiction. haha

The next three years of our lives

So we finally know where Shaun is going for his residency. He got put into the scramble like 21% of the other podiatry students. It was a long few days waiting to hear from these residencies, but we are glad the wait is over. We will be moving to Florida! We will be in Jacksonville by the University of Florida. NO SNOW!!!!!!!!
That is my favorite part. We were hoping for somewhere closer to family in the west, but what can you do. So everyone can come and visit us and we will hang out at the beach and go to Disneyworld, and Seaworld, and all the other cool parks down there. It will be a party! I am just glad to know where we going and where we will be for the next three years. So that is the update here. Everyone plan a trip out there within the next three years to come and play with us. The director seems really nice, he talked with Shaun for about half and hour tonight on the phone. So I think it will be a really good program for Shaun. We are excited the wait is over and we will be out of the snow.

Black Thumb

For Valentine's Day Shaun was such a sweetheart and brought me home these beautiful tulips. He got me a live plant because we didn't bring up a vase, even though he knew that it was a bad idea to get me a living plant. Well, sadly they didn't even last a week. I watered them and gave them sunlight, but alas they are dead and gone. I have never been able to keep a plant alive for very long. I really hope that someday we don't have to survive on our own garden because we will die. If that day ever comes, I am living with one of you.

Piston's game

One of the doctor's Shaun works with has season tickets to the Pistons and he gave us his tickets for last nights game. We had a lot of fun! I doubt if we will ever get tickets like that again. We were really close to the court, which was nice, but also we got to go to this buffet lounge. Before the game you have an all you can eat dinner with meats and pasta dishes and pizza and fruits and veggies, the food was really good. Then, during half time you came back and they had a dessert buffet, yummy! You could take the food down to the court with you as well. We didn't stay because it was late, but after the game they had more food. It was crazy nice up there. Shaun said there were even little mini TV's above the urinals in the men's bathroom. Us gals weren't so lucky to have a TV in ours though, sad. Anyway, it was tons of fun and we stuffed ourselves! We tried to soak it all in because we most likely won't get the chance to have that nice of seats again, but it is definitely worth doing. (especially since it was free for us) It was a pretty close game, good food, and we accually got to go on a real date!

Baby Dolls

Janalee loves her baby dolls. I never encouraged her to play with them, but they are some of her favorite toys. I think it is something ingrained into her genes, haha. She loves to carry them around with her and push them in the baby stroller. One of her baby dolls Aunt Brooke gave her for Christmas and it came with a carrying backpack so she loves to carry her around in that. Isn't she so cute. I am hoping that because she likes baby dolls so much that she is going to love her little brother so we won't have too much sibling rivalry. I'm thinking positively, haha.

Dance Party

Janalee loves to have music on and "dance". She mostly does this bobby type dance, but she has started spinning around in circles too, it is so cute. I was trying to catch the spinning on tape, but of course she didn't want to do that while I was filming. She is still pretty funny though.

This was from when we were still in Mesa, Janalee was about 6 months old. We were living in this great little duplex at the time and I thought it would be fun for Janalee to have a little swimming time. She liked to sit in the water there, but mostly she just liked to chew on the little blow-up rings that the pool came with.

Fun times with daddy

There hasn't been a whole lot going on up here so I haven't had anything to post about. I took this video today of Shaun playing with Janalee. It is really funny to see her trying to walk when she is dizzy. It is kind of long, but we think it is really funny. She thinks it is tons of fun. She is such a cute girl, we are very blessed. Today was the nicest day we have had this whole year. It got all the way up to 50 degrees. Woo hoo!!! I think the high is going to be over freezing all week, that is very exciting. I can't wait for winter to be over with!

We had another ultrasound done today. The first one they did really early so they couldn't see his heart very well so they wanted to do another one to follow up and everything looks good. He is measuring good and his weight is good. So we are happy to know that everything is going on schedule with him. I am now 20 weeks so I am half way there, woo hoo! Luckily Shaun was able to move some stuff around and was able to be there with me. He was a big help because Janalee thought the doctor's office was a really fun area to explore. It was nice for him to get to see the baby and experience that with me. He is such a cute daddy! The baby was kicking and moving around a lot, but they were able to get us some cute pictures. I never had the 3-D ones with Janalee so it was kind of fun to get to see him like that. Isn't he precious! I can't wait to meet him!

PS- we are having a hard time thinking of names that we both agree on, so we are up for suggestions if you have any :)

It snowed a ton here today! To get an idea of how much it snowed check out the back of Shaun's truck. That's a lot of snow!! Janalee has been begging us all day to take her out, it finally stopped snowing so we took her out for a little walk. She just loves the snow! Send some warm thoughts our way, we are freezing!

Janalee learned today how to crawl up onto our chairs. She put her necklace on, crawled up the chair and was reading her book. She was so proud of herself, look at that smile!

Tonight it was daddy's turn to change her diaper, but look what happened when he tried to get her dressed again. We were laughing so hard it took us a few minutes to calm down and help her.

Sorry it has been a while, things have been busy with is here. I have started working at the hospital so that makes things a lot busier. Here are some cute pics of her. I have a funny video, but I am having issues trying to get it off the camera, stay tuned.

I put a diaper on her head and she thought it was so funny, she was running around laughing with it on her head.

Fun weekend

I bought Janalee a broom because she is always getting into mine. I sawed it in half with a kitchen knife so that it is just her size. She carried this around all day and has been playing with it all weekend long. It was only a dollar, that is my kind of toy.

She spent some quality time with her dad this weekend while he was playing video games with Grandpa and uncle Aaron. She got to wear the headphones and was loving life.

I woke up this morning to our first snow! It has all melted by now, but it is still snowing lightly just not sticking to the ground. BURRRR!!!

Michigan roads

After driving around here for a few weeks I am really annoyed by the roads here. They have this things here called the "Michigan U-turn". This means that at most lights you cannot turn left. So what you have to do is drive father down the road, then do a U-turn, then you can make a right turn. I don't understand why you couldn't just save some time and make a left turn in the first place. They need to come out west and see the right way to construct roads. Hehe

New Words

Janalee has finally learned the words "no" and "don't". So now when she goes to touch something she knows she shouldn't she will tell herself "no, don't". It is really funny. Also Shaun and her have started to have special daddy/daughter time at night. They go into her room and play together. He taught her how to push the button to her toy and then she claps because she is so proud of herself. Aren't they cute together! play time

New boots

Grandpa Simmons gave Janalee some new snow boots for her birthday. We tried them on yesterday, they are a little big, but she will grow into them. They are really cute ones!

We have been looking for furniture for a while up here. We haven't been able to find a couch that isn't ridiculously expensive. When we were looking for air mattresses we came across the coolest couch in the world. So we just had to get it. Check it out!

But wait, there is more. Now it is our bed!

Ya, we just thought this was one of the coolest things we have seen so we had to get it. Not the most comfortable couch in the world, but defiantly the coolest. Haha!!

MICHIGAN

So we are all here in Michigan now. It was a long trek to get here. I had a long flight with Janalee; and Shaun and his brother Aaron had a very long drive. We are here now and trying to get settled in. We have most of the boxes unpacked, but it is kind of messy still because we don't have a lot of furniture yet. We found the jack-pot thrift store today though!! We had gone to others and they were really expensive. Today we found a desk for 10 bucks and a table and chair set for 24 bucks. Not to shabby. Now all we need to find is a couch. Michigan in nice- right now. It is really pretty outside with the leaves changing and the weather has been nice. But I am told that it won't last too much longer- sad day. I took a video from our front porch so you can see a little bit of where we are now. I will try to be good and update this more now. I have some video from Janalee's birthday, but I am having problems downloading it. I will get Shaun and work on that. Alright that is all for now. Bye!

We have those letter magnets that you put on the fridge and Janalee loves to walk around with them in her mouth and now she found another use for them. She will step on them and they stick to her feet and then when she walks it makes noise. She does it all the time. As always this is dark video. Our other camera that does really good video has a cord that we need to transfer the images to the computer somewhere in a box. So until we get to Michigan and hopefully find that box you will just have to deal with dark video, sorry.

Yesterday was my mom's big stake activity she was in charge of. It had a western theme and my grandma found this cute horse for her to use. Janalee loves this horse and rides it all the time. She even knows how to flick the reins and everything. I took a video of her but it is kind of dark, sorry. It is still really cute, not that I am bias or anything.

Fun Times

My dad's dad passed away a few weeks ago. Luckily we were all able to go over to California for the funeral. Since all five sisters were together again we decided to have some fun. We went to Knott's Berry Farm. It was a blast there. Janalee love to watch all the people and even got to ride on some rides herself. She took her first carousel ride. She also loved the 100 year old steam engine train ride we took. She loved to hang her head out the window and watch the people as we crept by. The scary part of the trip was when we went on a wooden roller coaster. It was so rickety that we were afraid the coaster would come off the track and we would go flying. Fun stuff!!!

Little Trouble Maker

Janalee is getting more mobile and getting into everything she can reach. She is even trying to climb things to get to other things that she can't reach. Shaun is in Michigan so Janalee and I are at my parent's house and there is tons of ways for her to get in trouble. Her new favorite thing is the dogie door. She used to just watch the dogs going in and out, but now she has decided to join them. So now we have gates and barricades up all over the house to try and contain her, but she is too smart for us and can get through most of them. We are going to have to step up our game. :)

We went over to California for Shaun's sister's wedding which was wonderful!! On the way back we had a little car problems though. We were about 30 miles on the California side of Blythe when the tread on the diver's side front tire came off. When it came off it took with it the side panel and some very important wires. So sadly the car is dead now. Thankfully Elisha's parents came to the rescue!! They drove all the way out there to pick us up and helped us tow it into Blythe. We all didn't get home until 2 in the morning, and they both went to work tired in the morning. Thank you guys so much for all you do for us! We would have been stuck out there for a while if it wasn't for you! Then they let us borrow their truck and tow it back to Mesa. Bye bye little red car, we will miss you.
